What did you just say? Did you say that having self confidence can help me make more money?  Of course it can.  But first you have to have an understanding of the basic element of “thinking”.  In other words, you must know and believe that thoughts causes which produce the “effects” in life we experience.

For a lot of people, working from home takes more discipline than going to a job with a nine to five schedule.  When you work at home you have the freedom to start working whenever you want without having to leave your house.  You also have the choice of planning your own work schedule in accordance with your own objectives.  But these benefits do not come easy for most new home based business owners who have to juggle both work and duties of the home, especially if you have a family.  Below are some tips that will help you work at home more efficiently.

1.  Determine a specific time-frame for your business and make this schedule the one that you adhere to every day that you are working in the home.  Although having your own home based business means that you can work anytime around the clock, you will discover that it is more productive to set certain work hours.  The family will also respect that you have set aside time to work and a time to play.

2.  Create a section or room in your house that is designated for your office work and nothing else.  You need to concentrate.  You have to set deadlines for yourself.  You need your own workspace.  By creating your own workplace you will be able to work in solitude and get your business rolling more effectively and without distractions.

3.  Do not try to juggle your house chorse and family time with work.  Working from home means that you may be inclined to clean the kitchen, walk the dog, wash the car, take the kids out for icecream, etc. but this is a mistake.  Imagine if you were going to clock in at the office from 9-5 and work that schedule, you should do the same at home. It takes extreme discipline but it can be done and your home based business will thank you for it, not to mention your family!

How Praise Can Actually DESTROY Your Protege and Coaching Business

When one of your proteges does a great job at completing a task, what do most of you say? Maybe something like:

“Wow, you have finished this as if it were nothing. You barely used any effort at all. You are what I call a born natural!”

Although it is may seem well meaning at face value, it will harbor a sense of needing to be perfect at everything they do. Your protege will start believing that they’re a born natural when they get that kind of praise over and over again.

Now what’s wrong with being perfect all the time, you ask? My answer: There is nothing wrong for striving to be best, but if you have to be perfect all the time, performance will dwindle.

You see, the reasoning is because when you are praising the character or personality of a particular person, they will destroy their own success because they are afraid of being imperfect when performing another task. They can do this in many ways: not giving all their efforts, avoiding the task altogether, etc.

They will feel threatened that they will be found out that they did not have the natural born talents after all. So they do nothing, give half their efforts, or blame external situations. After all, they are natural remember?

And naturals don’t make mistakes. They will reason their bad results should be blamed on the weather, a car accident they got into last week, having too many drinks last night, etc.

So the solution is that feedbacks and encouragements should not be linked to the personality or character of the person. You should focus on a specific process which brought about the desired results.

Such feedbacks can make the person more willing and able to change. A feedback should be specific, visible and measurable in order to be effective. For example: I liked the way you closed that million dollar client. You followed the procedure wonderfully. You got his attention, interest, desire, and put him into action purchasing our service. Great job Samantha!

So I hope now you understand that the wrong kind of praise will ruin people as much as harsh criticism. The best kind of praise is by praising people by how well they went through the process in which they became successful.

If you really want your protege to succeed in the long term, give them the idea that it was the process that was the most important factor for their success. Do NOT link their success with their personality, character or natural born abilities. When your protege becomes hugely successful down the road, don’t you agree that you and your coaching business will be more reputable in future?

I want to be successful, but I don’t want to add the time and work involved into the equation!    

That’s the wrong attitude, but it is the attitude I see going around lately. If you want to be successful you need to have the right mindset, you have to have the success mindset, the success mindset is the attitude that no matter what you have to do, will be successful..

To be successful you have to put forth some effort, you have to set in motion the force that will take you there, everyday you need to tell yourself you are a success, you are a leader, a winner you will make it to the top no matter what.

You may go through some trial and errors, but that is just a learning process, you just have to be strong enough to pick yourself back up and never ever give up.

Giving up is for quitters and quitters never win, so to be a winner you have to stay strong, and get the success mentality.

First, imagine what life would be like if you are rich. Don’t just see it. Feel it as if you’re already experiencing the luxuries and lifestyle of the rich.

Do you see yourself driving your dream car? What model and color is it? Touch the seat and feel its soft texture. Open the car radio and listen to your favorite music. Experience the joy of driving it towards your favorite place.

Maybe you could visualize a house. How many rooms does it have? Take a relaxing soak in the bath tub. Smell the food aroma coming out from the large kitchen. Play sports in your own private gym. The important thing here is to believe that you are already rich.

Now doesn’t that feel good? By doing this exercise, you are unleashing the powers of your subconscious and directing it to give you what you’re dreaming of.

But it doesn’t end there. To make this even more effective, breathe slowly while still hanging on to this wonderful feeling of being rich, and say a small thanks to God, or to a Higher Power.

By being grateful, you are commanding the Powers of the Universe to work in your favor. You are confirming that you are graciously accepting your blessings.
